Role Purpose
Establish and manage the company’s warehouses in Kenya from the ground up.
The Warehouse Manager will ensure operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, safe warehouse operations, and reliable distribution to internal operations, partners, and customers. The role will also oversee compliance with safety standards, and the development of warehouse operational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Establishment & Infrastructure
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend suitable warehouse facilities in Kenya in line with operational requirements and growth plans.
- Lead warehouses setup including layout design, storage configuration, racking systems, and material handling equipment.
- Design an efficient warehouse structure to support optimal receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch operations.
- Implement ERP inventory modules to ensure accurate stock control and reporting. The implementation is Company specific: warehouse records should be created for each partner (physical farm location) where stock is delivered and tracked. The Warehouse Manager to define warehouse hierarchy and link warehouses to the company structure in the ERP system.
- Develop and implement warehouse standard operating procedures, policies, and documentation.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials with strong emphasis on stock control and accuracy.
- Establish inventory management systems including identification, labeling, tracking, and reconciliation.
- Conduct regular stock counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation for all stock movements.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan occupational health and safety regulations and warehouse safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in warehouse operations or supply chain management.
- Experience in establishing or setting up warehouse operations from scratch is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in inventory management, warehouse systems, and experience managing warehouse teams and operational staff.
- Knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
