Social Media Manager NGO Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead our social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.) to raise visibility of our mission and impact.
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content (posts, videos, reels, stories, carousels) that educates, inspires, and mobilizes our community.
- Collaborate with the content and program teams to ensure messaging aligns with campaign goals, climate education priorities, and program milestones.
- Engage with our followers and online communities in real-time, responding to questions and encouraging dialogue that reflects our values.
- Track and analyze performance metrics to evaluate impact and optimize strategies, providing monthly insights and recommendations to the team.
- Stay on top of trends in social media, environmental education, youth climate movements, and nonprofit communication to keep our approach relevant and effective.
- Support integrated communications efforts by contributing to email campaigns, multimedia production, and digital storytelling when needed.
- Grow our social media audience and increase engagement across all platforms.
- Build and maintain relationships with press to help share our story.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of proven experience managing social media for a mission-driven organization or brand.
- Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex climate and education topics in accessible and engaging ways.
- Demonstrated ability to grow audiences, boost engagement, and manage multiple platforms with a consistent voice and visual identity.
- Graphic design and video editing experience.
- Experience in media outreach and influencer engagement.
- Experience with remote work and international teams.
- A passion for environmental sustainability, education, and global collaboration.
- Existing press relationships and experience securing coverage.
