It is about positioning, creativity, timing, market awareness, audience psychology, visual communication, paid distribution, performance tracking, and consistent business growth.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Social Media Growth & Paid Media Strategist who can take ownership of organic social media growth, paid social campaigns, content planning, brand communication, visual execution, and performance reporting across FutureX brands and selected client accounts.

This role is for someone who understands different facets of social media, can grow young brands from the ground up, optimize existing brands that need stronger structure and visibility, and adapt quickly to market changes, platform trends, audience behavior, and content performance.

The ideal candidate must be creative, strategic, commercially aware, and highly skilled in graphic design. They should be comfortable working across different industries and able to translate business goals into content and campaigns that build awareness, trust, engagement, leads, enquiries, sales, bookings, and measurable growth.

This person must understand that social media supports bigger business goals. Strong content attracts and educates the audience, paid ads amplify the right message to the right people, and performance tracking shows whether the activity is supporting real business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Growth

Develop social media strategies that align with each brand’s goals, audience, market position, growth stage, and commercial objectives.

This includes:

  • Creating platform-specific strategies for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other relevant channels
  • Identifying what each brand should be known for online
  • Building content pillars based on audience needs, market gaps, business goals, and sales priorities
  • Supporting young brands with visibility, positioning, audience growth, and trust-building
  • Optimizing existing brands with stronger messaging, structure, consistency, engagement, and conversion direction
  • Keeping up with platform changes, content trends, algorithm shifts, and audience behavior
  • Turning social media activity into a clear growth engine, not random posting

Organic Growth & Community Development

Lead organic social media growth across FutureX and client brands.

This includes:

  • Growing audience visibility and engagement through consistent, intentional content
  • Improving profile strength, brand clarity, and audience connection
  • Developing content that supports awareness, education, trust, demand, and conversion
  • Building community engagement through comments, stories, polls, direct messages, and interactive content
  • Recommending organic growth tactics based on the brand’s stage, audience, and industry
  • Identifying opportunities for collaborations, partnerships, influencer engagement, and community-led growth
  • Supporting brands to become more visible, credible, and memorable online

Paid Social Media Strategy & Execution

Plan, execute, monitor, and optimize paid social media campaigns across Meta and LinkedIn.

This includes:

  • Developing paid campaign strategies based on business goals
  • Running Meta ads across Facebook and Instagram
  • Running LinkedIn ads for B2B, professional services, recruitment, thought leadership, and lead generation campaigns
  • Structuring campaigns for awareness, engagement, traffic, lead generation, conversions, remarketing, recruitment, and sales support
  • Creating audience targeting strategies
  • Setting up campaign structures, ad sets, creatives, copy variations, and testing plans
  • Monitoring campaign performance and optimizing based on data
  • Advising when a brand needs organic growth first, paid ads first, or a combined approach
  • Ensuring paid ads are connected to the wider marketing and sales journey

Paid Media Budget Management & ROI Accountability

Manage advertising budgets professionally and account for spend clearly.

The ideal candidate must have experience managing meaningful paid media budgets, including budgets of up to KES 1,000,000.

This includes:

  • Planning and allocating budgets based on campaign objectives, audience size, funnel stage, and expected return
  • Managing monthly, campaign-based, and client-approved advertising budgets
  • Tracking spend across Meta and LinkedIn
  • Monitoring cost efficiency and budget pacing
  • Accounting for ad spend clearly and transparently
  • Advising clients and internal teams on budget requirements and expected outcomes
  • Understanding ROI, ROAS, cost per lead, cost per acquisition, conversion rates, lead quality, reach, frequency, engagement, and click-through rates
  • Reporting what was spent, what was achieved, what improved, what underperformed, and what should change
  • Making performance-led recommendations that support better results and smarter budget use

Content Planning & Calendar Development

Create structured content plans and calendars that are practical, strategic, and aligned with business priorities.

This includes:

  • Monthly content calendars
  • Weekly content direction
  • Campaign concepts
  • Post ideas and captions
  • Story ideas
  • Reels and short-form video concepts
  • LinkedIn thought-leadership content direction
  • Brand awareness content
  • Product, service, and offer-based content
  • Lead generation content
  • Client acquisition content
  • Community-building content
  • Campaign content that supports paid ads and retargeting

The candidate must be able to plan content that feels relevant, current, and aligned with the brand’s audience and commercial goals.

Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation

Design high-quality social media graphics that reflect each brand’s identity, positioning, and audience expectations.

This includes:

  • Instagram and Facebook posts
  • LinkedIn graphics
  • Carousel posts
  • Story graphics
  • Campaign visuals
  • Paid ad creatives
  • Promotional materials
  • Simple presentation-style social graphics
  • Branded templates
  • Visual content for different industries and audience types

The candidate must have strong graphic design skills and be able to create clean, professional, visually appealing content without needing constant direction.

Brand Communication & Messaging

Support brands in communicating clearly, professionally, and effectively across social platforms.

This includes:

  • Writing captions that match the brand tone
  • Creating paid ad copy for Meta and LinkedIn campaigns
  • Adapting messaging for different audiences
  • Creating hooks that attract attention without sounding generic
  • Turning business ideas into engaging social content
  • Making complex services easier to understand
  • Strengthening brand trust and authority through content
  • Avoiding shallow, trend-only content that does not support business goals
  • Ensuring messaging connects to the customer journey and business objectives

Multi-Industry Content & Campaign Adaptability

Work across different industries and understand how to adjust content style, messaging, creative direction, and paid campaign strategy based on each client’s market.

Review and improve existing social media pages to make them stronger, clearer, and more aligned with business goals.

Monitor what is changing across social media and identify opportunities for FutureX and client brands.

This includes:

  • Tracking platform updates
  • Identifying useful content trends
  • Understanding what is gaining attention in different markets
  • Recommending timely content ideas
  • Knowing when to use trends and when to avoid them
  • Supporting brands to remain relevant without losing professionalism
  • Adapting strategies based on campaign performance, market shifts, and audience response

Reporting & Performance Review

Track organic and paid performance and use insights to improve future content and campaigns.

This includes:

  • Reviewing engagement, reach, saves, shares, clicks, follower growth, leads, enquiries, conversions, and sales-related outcomes
  • Identifying top-performing content
  • Highlighting what is not working
  • Reviewing paid campaign performance
  • Preparing simple but meaningful performance summaries
  • Connecting social media performance to brand and business goals
  • Recommending improvements based on data, not assumptions
  • Supporting internal and client discussions with clear reporting

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong experience in social media management, content strategy, and paid social media advertising
  • Proven experience running Meta ads and LinkedIn ads
  • Experience managing paid media budgets, ideally up to KES 1,000,000
  • Strong understanding of ROI, ROAS, CPL, CPA, CTR, conversion rates, reach, frequency, engagement, and lead quality
  • Excellent graphic design skills
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms
  • Ability to create content and campaigns for different industries
  • Strong writing, caption development, and ad copywriting skills
  • Ability to grow new brands and optimize existing ones
  • Good understanding of audience psychology, customer journeys, and market behavior
  • Ability to create structured content calendars
  • Strong visual taste and brand consistency
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to trends and platform changes

Important Note

This role requires someone who can manage social media as a complete growth function. The consultant must be able to handle both organic growth and paid social media advertising across Meta and LinkedIn.

The consultant must understand that social media is part of a larger business growth system. Organic content builds visibility, trust, and relevance. Paid media expands reach and drives targeted action. Reporting shows whether the activity is supporting real business goals.
