Our client is a Wildlife Conservancy organization looking to hire a Salesforce Developer & Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, and continuous optimization of the Conservancy’s Salesforce platform as a central system for donor management, fundraising, and programme monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).

The role ensures data integrity, system reliability, and effective reporting while supporting system integrations and user adoption. It enables teams to manage stakeholder relationships, track performance, and make data-driven decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Salesforce Administration, Configuration & Data Governance

  • Administer and maintain Salesforce, including user management, profiles, permission sets, and security settings.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all Salesforce records.
  • Configure and customize Salesforce to meet Development and MEL needs (custom objects, fields, page layouts, workflows, and automations).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain donor segmentation models based on giving history, behaviour, and demographics.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and user training materials.
  • Monitor and enforce data quality standards, governance protocols, and compliance requirements.

Analytics, Reporting & Insights

  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports to support fundraising performance, donor engagement, and programme/MEL tracking.
  • Deliver regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) reporting for internal teams, senior leadership, and Board-level review.
  • Develop pipeline and performance tracking tools to support fundraising strategy and forecasting.
  • Translate data into clear insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure consistent data structures and coding to enable accurate analysis across campaigns and programmes.

Systems Management & Optimization

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy, including the effective use of platforms such as Salesforce and Active Campaign to enhance stakeholder engagement, data management, and reporting.
  • Ensure donor data is high-quality, standardized, and optimized for fundraising and communications.
  • Stay up to date with Salesforce releases and implement relevant enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, configuration, and user issues on time.
  • Work with Finance and Grants teams to reconcile data between Salesforce and financial systems (e.g., Sage)

Integration & Data Architecture

  • Lead and manage integrations between Salesforce and key platforms (e.g., Tableau, Kobo Toolbox, Formula, financial systems, marketing automation tools)
  • Oversee and optimize tools, including AppExchange applications, data loaders, and document generation tools.
  • Ensure seamless data flows and system interoperability across the organization.
  • Continuously improve data architecture and processes to support scalability and reporting needs.

User Support, Training & Adoption

  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff to drive Salesforce adoption and effective use of data.
  • Promote best practices in data entry, reporting, and system use across teams.
  • Act as a key partner in building a data-driven culture within fundraising and programme teams.

Operational & Programmatic Support

  • Support donor stewardship and digital initiatives, including campaign and event data management
  • Where necessary, support data collection for special programmes (e.g., rhino adoption/naming, visits, and experiences)
  • Produce programme-specific dashboards and ensure timely data availability
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Additional Duties.

  • Perform other related tasks to support organizational objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Salesforce administration and/or development.
  • Proven experience in Salesforce configuration, customization, and user management
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce CRM functionalities (objects, workflows, validation rules, security settings).
  • Experience in data management, including data cleaning, validation, and integrity controls.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party platforms (e.g., marketing systems, Tableau, financial systems, Kobo Toolbox, Formula).
  • Experience working with CRM systems in a nonprofit or fundraising environment is an added advantage.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification. Will be an added advantage
  • Salesforce Platform App Builder or Developer Certification. Will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP). Will be an added advantage
    • Data analysis and reporting skills, including dashboard development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly information.
  • Ability to train and support users effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
  • Understanding of fundraising processes and donor management is desirable.
  • Commitment to promoting a data-driven culture.
