Sales Representative – FMCG Job

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Sales Representative to manage and grow our retail presence across Tier 1 and Tier 2 supermarkets in Nairobi and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will have a proven record of securing listings, managing in-store execution, and maintaining strong relationships with retail decision-makers in the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Secure new product listings in Tier 1 & Tier 2 supermarkets
• Manage and grow relationships with key retail stakeholders — including buyers, category managers, and store managers
• Negotiate terms on pricing, shelf space, promotions, and merchandising agreements
• Ensure in-store execution of brand and trade marketing strategies, including planogram compliance and promotion activities
• Conduct regular market visits to monitor stock levels, product visibility, pricing, and competitor activity
• Conduct shopper and market studies to uncover category trends and market insights
• Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely stock replenishment and minimize stockouts
• Track and optimize volumes for volume growth and market penetration across assigned regions

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in FMCG sales or key account management, with direct experience in supermarket listings
• Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and increasing product visibility in Tier 1 and 2 supermarket chains
• Deep understanding of supermarket dynamics and trends within the Kenyan supermarket landscape
• Strong analytical skills, with knowledge of sales performance tracking
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Self-driven, highly organized, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and sales dashboards
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territories

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
• Experience working with FMCG goods is an added advantage
