Who are we looking for :

• We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Project Managers (on defined contract basis) to lead core banking, ERP (including Dynamics and other ERP systems), and core system migration projects, as well as system upgrades. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex and dynamic technology transformation programs, working with global technology solution providers, and driving digital transformation initiatives as a direct “go-to-market” offering.
• As part of a high-performing team, you will be expected to deliver exceptional client service by providing advice on how technology enablement, digital transformation and enterprise intelligence contribute to performance improvement, as well as provide advice on how digital technology can act as a key growth driver in enterprise-wide business transformations. Additionally, you will be expected to follow current project management standards within established timeframes, and at defined quality levels, and ensure that projects are completed on schedule and according to client specifications.
• This position is client-facing and may require travel to client sites across the East African region, as deemed necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for core banking, ERP migration, and system upgrades, ensuring successful completion on time and within scope and budget.
• Provide strategic guidance and clear, data-driven updates to SteerCo, ensuring that all stakeholders remain informed, aligned, and engaged throughout project phases.
• Collaborate with PMO to establish strong governance frameworks, reporting standards, and risk management practices to uphold project integrity and adherence to scope.
• Ensure seamless communication and proactive management of project risks, issues, and dependencies, fostering effective cross-functional and stakeholder collaboration.
• Deliver exceptional client service by advising on technology enablement, digital transformation, and enterprise intelligence, focusing on the alignment of technology with business goals.
• Provide advice on growth potential through digital technology in enterprise-wide transformations.

To be successful you need to have

• Bachelor’s Degree in either: Computer Science, BBIT, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• A globally recognized professional qualification in project management is desired (Prince2, PMP, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience in IT Project Management within reputable organizations, with at least 3 years in a Senior Project Management role, or Technology Consulting role, at a senior or consultant level.
• Demonstrated experience in managing ERP and core banking system upgrades or migrations, including Microsoft Dynamics and other ERP systems.
• Proven experience delivering key workstreams in multi-faceted technology transformation programs in complex environments.
• Experience collaborating with leading global technology providers, such as Microsoft, SAP, etc.
• Robust skills in leading multi-disciplinary consulting and delivery teams.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Evidence of self-motivation and a commitment to developing expertise in digital transformation, emerging technologies, and relevant business areas such as SAP, cloud computing, and data management.
• Willingness to research and address client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
