Job Purpose;

To oversee the Procurement process within an organization to ensure that goods, services and materials are acquired in a cost-effective and timely manner while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Duties and responsibilities.

• Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation (Locally & Internationally)-Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers as well as selecting and engaging with suitable suppliers that offers the best value both in terms of product and cost.
• Supplier Relationship Management –Cultivating strong relationships with key suppliers to explore opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement and ensure a consistent supply of goods and services.
• Cost Management-Cost reduction in the overall expenditure incurred by an organization in raw material and packaging material acquisition and cost avoidance through the identification mitigation of potential sources of cost escalation or unnecessary spending.
• Contact Management (suppliers, clearing agents and service providers)-Establishing clear and comprehensive contracts to ensure adherence to agreed-upon terms and conditions and monitoring contract performance regularly.
• Demand planning (Preparing the monthly demand planning data sheets for all RM & PM)-Forecasting future requirements for RM&PM to ensure that the organization procures the right quantity at the right time and cost.
• Risk Assessment-Assessing potential risks and uncertainties that may impact supplies deliveries and lead times and ensuring continuity of supply.
• Inventory Management-Determining optimal inventory levels to meet projected demand while minimizing carrying costs and stock outs.
• Procurement; providing key materials through the development of contingency plans and alternative materials and suppliers.
• Logistics Management –Planning, coordination and execution of transportation activities related to the movement of goods via air and sea.
• Working closely with the R&D department in driving innovation, achieving cost efficiencies, managing risks and accelerating time-to-market for new products.
• Leading procurement issues/questions relating to the procurement of raw and packaging materials and business services.
• Working closely with the respective brand teams to ensure sound planning and sourcing of the required finished goods.
• Conducting business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities.

Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, economics or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience same role, preferably manufacturing industry
• Proven expertise in managing procurement processes for export is required
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, mainly excel
• The ability to work as part of a team, effective communication skills, detail-oriented.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
