Role Summary
The Private Label Manager will own and drive Greenspoon’s Private Label strategy, growth, and performance, operating with a founder’s mindset to build a commercially successful, high-quality, and trusted private label brand across multiple categories.
This role is responsible for turning strategy into execution leading product development, commercial strategy, sales growth, supplier partnerships, quality alignment, and brand positioning. The role holder will be highly hands-on, proactive, and self-driven, taking full ownership to ensure Greenspoon Private Label becomes a key revenue and margin driver while maintaining exceptional product standards.
The role also carries full financial ownership and reporting accountability, requiring strong commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and disciplined financial management.
This role sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, people leadership, commercial performance, financial accountability, and customer experience, and requires a high-energy, action-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Category Leadership
- Own and drive the end-to-end Private Label strategy, operating with an entrepreneurial and ownership mindset.
- Act as an internal founder, proactively identifying opportunities, solving problems, and driving execution without reliance on heavy structures.
- Develop and maintain a strong, customer-led product roadmap based on market trends, customer insights, and performance data.
- Identify high-potential product gaps and independently build business cases for new category expansions.
- Build and execute annual and quarterly category growth plans, translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and deliverables.
Product Development & Innovation
- Lead the concept, development, testing, and launch of new private label products with speed and ownership.
- Work closely with Quality, Food Safety, Product Development, and Sourcing teams to ensure:
- High product standards
- Compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements
- Consistency in quality and taste
- Drive continuous improvement of existing SKUs based on customer feedback, quality metrics, and performance analysis.
Commercial & Financial Ownership & Reporting
- Own full P&L accountability for Private Label, with responsibility for revenue, margin, cost control, and profitability.
- Build, manage, and continuously optimize budgets and forecasts.
- Establish and maintain robust financial reporting, including:
- Weekly and monthly performance reports
- Variance analysis vs targets and forecasts
- Cost, margin, and pricing analysis
- Product and category profitability tracking
- Track and optimize revenue growth, gross margin, SKU performance, stock efficiency, and waste levels.
- Build pricing strategies that balance value, quality, competitiveness, and profitability.
- Present clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Sales Growth & Execution
- Drive online sales performance through strong product positioning, promotional strategy, bundling, cross-sell initiatives, and seasonal campaigns.
- Partner with Growth, Marketing, and Category teams to maximize conversion, basket size, retention, and customer lifetime value.
- Continuously test, learn, and iterate to drive rapid commercial growth.
Supplier & Partner Management
- Lead sourcing strategy for Private Label products.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships focused on quality, cost optimization, reliability, and innovation.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract management, and long-term supplier partnerships.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 6–10+ years experience in Category Management, Product Development, FMCG, Retail, or E-commerce
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset
- Proven experience building and scaling private label brands
- Excellent supplier negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Passion for food, quality, sustainability, and customer experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments
