Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Budget (gross per month): KES 80,000 – 100,000

Job Description

Our client in the ICT industry is a leading systems integrator delivering end-to-end technology solutions across the hospitality, commercial, and real estate sectors. With a strong emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and ROI, the company continues to empower clients through smart, scalable systems.

They are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, streamline workflows, and ensure the smooth coordination of cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, procurement, and logistics expertise, with a passion for operational excellence in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Daily Operations Oversight: Lead and coordinate daily business operations to ensure seamless workflow and collaboration across departments such as Projects, Finance, HR, and Sales.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, working to optimize resource utilization and reduce operational costs.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • SOP Development: Design, implement, and update clear SOPs for cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, accountability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all teams follow established procedures and regularly audit operations for gaps and improvements.

Project Coordination

  • Project Monitoring: Track progress of ongoing projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Bottleneck Resolution: Actively troubleshoot and resolve operational delays, resource constraints, or logistical issues affecting project delivery.

Procurement Management

  • Vendor Management: Oversee the selection of suppliers, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Procurement Oversight: Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services needed for project execution.

Supplier Relationship & Data Management

  • Supplier Engagement: Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers to secure reliable supply chains.
  • Database Management: Ensure vendor and procurement records are accurate, current, and easily accessible.

Logistics Management

  • Shipment Coordination: Manage logistics for local and international shipments, ensuring customs compliance and timely deliveries.
  • Transport & Delivery Oversight: Liaise with logistics providers to monitor shipment status and resolve any delays or damages.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Stock Monitoring: Supervise inventory levels, ensuring availability of materials while avoiding overstocking.
  • Accuracy & Reconciliation: Conduct regular stock takes, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain inventory records.

Compliance & Regulatory Standards

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all operational and procurement activities comply with internal company policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory requirements, especially those related to import/export, procurement, and labor laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–5 years in a similar role with proven procurement and logistics expertise.
  • Experience working in ICT, engineering, or project-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Negotiation and supplier management experience.
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures and customs documentation.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
