Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Instruction:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the nursing curriculum.
• Use innovative teaching methods, including simulations, demonstrations, and case studies, to enhance learning.

Curriculum Development:

• Participate in the review and development of nursing curricula to ensure it meets regulatory and industry standards.
• Incorporate the latest evidence-based practices and trends in nursing education.

Clinical Supervision:

• Oversee students during clinical placements, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in line with course objectives.
• Provide guidance and feedback to students during practical sessions.

Student Support and Mentorship:

• Mentor and advise students on academic, personal, and professional development matters.
• Identify and address students’ learning needs to ensure their success.

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Prepare and administer tests, assignments, and exams to evaluate students’ progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive feedback.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all teaching activities comply with nursing council regulations and standards.
• Prepare documentation required for audits, inspections, and accreditation.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated on advancements in nursing and education through continuous professional development.
• Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BNSc) or a Diploma in Nursing with a Teaching Certificate. A Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is an added advantage.
• Licensure: Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
• Experience: At least 1 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Prior experience in teaching or training in a healthcare or academic setting is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and ethics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in using technology for teaching and administrative tasks.
