For appointment to this position, a candidate must:

  • be a citizen of Kenya;
  • hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • have had at least seven (7) years experience in the public service;
  • have had a distinguished career in his/her respective field; and
  • meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

The names of shortlisted candidates for each post shall be published on the Commission’s website;

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to present originals of the following documents during the interviews;
  • National Identity Card;
  • Academic and Professional Certificates and transcripts;
  • Any other supporting documents and testimonials; and
  • Current and valid clearances from the following bodies:
    • Kenya Revenue Authority;
    • Ethic and Anti-Corruption Commission
    • Higher Education Loans Board;
    • Any of the Registered Credit Reference Bureaus;
    • Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate);
  • Letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education (CUE) for any degree obtained from foreign universities; and
  • Recommendations from relevant professional bodies (where applicable).
    • The salary and benefits for these positions shall be determined by the Cabinet Secretary on the advice of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission; and
    • The Chairperson and Members of the Board shall hold office for a period of three years but shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further term.
