Position: Medical Laboratory Technologist
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract
Reporting to: CEO / Hospital Administrator
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting accurate diagnosis and patient care through high-quality laboratory testing and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples and specimens, including safe disposal
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests accurately and efficiently
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of test results
- Keep laboratory records;
- Clean laboratory apparatus and equipment;
- Inventory and Stock Management;
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety, quality control, and infection prevention standards
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs
- Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisors.
Requirements
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related field
- Registered and licensed with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB)
- Valid practicing license
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
