This is a full-time on-site role for an ICT Assistant Administrator at Hemingways Watamu. The ICT Assistant Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support, managing network administration tasks, conducting day-to-day troubleshooting, ensuring network security, and overseeing information technology operations at the location.

  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills

  • Experience in a hospitality environment is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Network and Systems Administration:

  • Administer and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud systems.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and Access Points
  • Ensure the availability and performance of all IT systems and services.

Servers & Endpoint Management:

  • Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor server performance and conduct updates and patches to ensure security and stability.

Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access.
  • Monitor network traffic and endpoint for security threats and take necessary steps to prevent breaches.
  • Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to staff and end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring proper access to systems and resources.
  • Train users on new systems and software as required.

Software and Hardware Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and hardware.
  • Manage the life cycle of hardware and software, including installation, updates, and upgrades. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain up-to-date records of IT infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.

Project Management:

  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and deployment of new IT projects and systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure smooth integration of new technologies. Vendor and

Asset Management:

  • Ensure the proper management of IT assets, including hardware procurement and quality approval.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving IT-related issues.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and operating systems (Windows, etc.).
  • Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of IPTV programming and support, IP/Analogue telephony troubleshooting support, and CCTV installation support, Network switches and Switching.
  • Excellent end-user support in hospitality systems.

Working Conditions:

Full-time role with occasional evening or weekend work, depending on system updates and emergencies. • On-call availability for urgent technical support or system issues
