Our client is medium-sized beverage manufacturing factory based in Tanzania. . They are looking to hire a General Manager who will direct, administer, and coordinate the internal operational activities of the organization by policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer. He or she will lead and direct the Sales & Marketing, Operations (warehouse and field), and Logistics and have oversight on other departments. Additionally, he or she will assist the CEO in the development of organization policies and goals that cover operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth of the functions and/or business units.

Roles and Responsibility

Manufacturing Management:

• Oversee the entire aspects of beverage manufacturing, ensuring efficient and timely products availability while avoiding product stock-outs.
• Championing implementation, maintenance and supervision of quality systems while ensuring products meet established standards.
• Supervise management of inventory levels while ensuring production schedules are optimized to meet demand.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental as well
• as with other statutory obligations.

Business Operations:

• Develop and implement business strategies for the achievement of manufacturing and financial goals.
• Target positioning the entity favorably in the attainment of a triplebottom-line goal.
• Oversee management budget, expenses tracking and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Create clear supply chain visibility having a collaborative approach with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Awareness and ownership of market trends while constantly identifyingand exploiting growth and innovation opportunities.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technical, production, quality control, finance, administration, human resources, Logistics Supply Chain,
• IT and Security heads of departments, and other relevant staff.
• Provide training and support to ensure employees have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
• Schedule and conduct participatory performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.

Financial Management:

• Manage the beverage manufacturing facility’s budget and financial performance.
• Analyze financial data and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase profitability.

Quality Control and Assurance:

• Ensure development and implementation of quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
• Ensure monitoring of product quality to satisfy established standards.
• Ensure investigation and resolution of any quality issues that arise.

Strategic Planning:

• Contribute to the development of the overall business strategy for the beverage manufacturing company.
• Ensure all operations are aligned to the company objectives
• Embed and ensure sustained competitive advantage over competing rivals.
• Identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Develop and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability.

Performance Management:

• Embrace data-driven decision – making.
• Implement Key Performance Indicators and smart objectives across all company departments.
• Ensure periodic evaluation of conformance/non-conformance to the set KPI’s.
• Ensure investigation and correction of non-conformance, while sustaining and rewarding conformance.

Other Duties

• Ensure maintenance of a safe and clean work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Represent the company in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Post – graduate qualifications, Professional certification and membership is a plus e.g. EHS, ISO, etc.
• Proven 10 Years’ experience in Operations, Production, Engineering, EHS & Quality assurance management, Product Development preferably in the beverage manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry regulations and best practices.
• Polished excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Demonstrable commercial awareness
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively while handling multiple task with precision.
• Commitment to promoting safety and environmental sustainability.
