GBV Case Worker NGO Job (Nakuru)

Reporting to : Sponsorship Officer

Salary : 40,000 – 50,000 Kshs

Our client is a Christian non-profit organization that runs a well-established school and is seeking an experienced GBV Case Worker to join their team and provide compassionate, expert support to individuals facing complex social and psychological challenges. This role requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in social work, GBV (Gender-Based Violence), and crisis intervention, ideally with experience working within international and community-oriented settings.

  • Monitor and promote the physical and mental health of children.
  • Provide direct case management, counseling, and crisis intervention for individuals, including children and families facing issues related to GBV, addiction, abuse, and other trauma.
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized care and intervention plans, coordinating services to support recovery and integration.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and services to provide continuous support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive case records and prepare reports in line with organizational standards.
  • Conduct outreach and sensitization on issues of GBV, addiction, abuse, and crisis intervention in collaboration with community leaders.
  • Support the emotional and psychological well-being of clients, employing a patient, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach.
  • Facilitate training and sensitization workshops for community members and stakeholders on addiction, abuse, and GBV.
  • Proficiency in connecting individuals/families with appropriate resources and services.
  • Ability to compromise, negotiate, and engage effectively with children, community members, and co-workers

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Child Protection, or a related field.
  • Minimum Age: 30 years and above
  • Training in GBV and knowledge of various forms of addiction and abuse, including alcohol, drugs, sexual and physical violence, and financial, emotional, and psychological abuse.
  • At least 3+ years with an international organization and 5+ years as a Case Worker in community or non-profit settings.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Swahili and English, with proficiency in medical, legal, GBV, and educational terminology.
  • Demonstrate skill in preparing clear, accurate reports.
  • High degree of empathy, patience, and the ability to support individuals who have difficulty expressing their needs.
  • The role may require extensive walking or moving around for long hours, including potential outdoor work on various terrains.
  • This position may require extended hours, including weekend shifts, and availability for day and night phone calls.
