Food and Beverages Specialist/Chef Job. Hotel Jobs in Kenya
The role: The Food and Beverages Specialist will be responsible for offering support in cleaning and kitchen services.
Responsibilities:
- Under guidance take lead in food preparation, including cooking, grilling, baking, following standardized recipes and guidelines for meal preparation.
- Monitor food quality during preparation to ensure food safety and adherence to established food preparation standards.
- Coordinate with colleagues to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
- Share knowledge and guidance to other staff members (kitchen) on food preparation techniques and standards.
- Respond to inquiries, special requests, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner. Assist in inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels, including stock rotation and replenishment of food and cleaning supplies
- Assist in developing and implementing hygiene and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Lead in daily cleaning and maintenance tasks in the kitchen and ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to established procedures and schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas to identify areas requiring attention repair.
- Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure kitchen facilities meet health and safety regulations and report any non-compliance or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide recommendations on menu items.
- Resolve simple customer complaints and issues.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in customer service areas.
- Receive incoming food and beverage deliveries and stock shelves accordingly.
- Follow established procedures for storing, rotating, and disposing of perishable and non-perishable items.
- Assist in basic quality control tasks such as visual inspections and simple measurements and report any quality issues or deviations from standards to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow established quality control procedures and guidelines under supervision.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with team members and supervisors.
- Efficiently manage and complete assigned tasks, meet deadlines and quality standards.

Experience Required:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- 1+ years of kitchen management experience,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work in any shift and in any office environment.
- Ability to take direction and work both independently and in collaboration with a team.
