Job Responsibilities

• Factory (Mainly Mortar & Coatings) Setup and Launch (From Ground Zero):
• Comprehensively oversee the establishment of new factories, including but not limited to: coordinating and managing interactions with government agencies, design firms, contractors, and supervisors.
• Lead factory layout planning, production line installation, and commissioning to ensure projects advance smoothly according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Comprehensive Factory Management:
• Oversee daily factory operations encompassing production, equipment, quality, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), supply chain, and warehousing.
• Develop and execute annual budgets, production plans, and operational targets, assuming accountability for business outcomes.

Team Building and Leadership:

• Manage and build a diverse workforce team.
• Effectively handle local labor relations while ensuring compliance with regional laws and regulations.

Production and Quality Management:

• Ensure all products are manufactured strictly in accordance with Oriental Yuhong’s global quality standards and process procedures.
• Establish and refine the quality management system, drive continuous improvement, and reduce customer complaint rates.

Supply Chain and Localization:

Build a stable and reliable local supply chain system. Manage and optimize local procurement, inventory control, and logistics distribution to ensure supply chain resilience and cost-effectiveness.

Market Support and Customer Focus:

• Collaborate closely with the team to gain deep insights into the needs and market dynamics of African customers (particularly in East Africa).
• Provide necessary technical support and host factory audits for key local clients and major projects.

Compliance and EHS:

• Ensure the factory fully complies with Kenyan laws and regulations, as well as the Group’s headquarters policies, in all aspects of environmental, health, safety, and operations.
• Lead the establishment and implementation of a robust safety management system to achieve the “zero accident” safety goal.

Application & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; fluent in English as a working language with strong cross-cultural communication skills;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Plant Manager of medium-sized or larger factories or equivalent senior management role;
• Willingness and ability to accept long-term assignment in Kenya; preference given to candidates with work and management experience in emerging markets, particularly in Africa;
• Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities; ability to thrive under pressure and challenges; results-oriented mindset; enjoys the fulfillment of building projects from the ground up.
