Deputy Director, Research, Strategy and Planning Job . Finance Jobs In Kenya

Job Purpose

The Deputy Director, Research, Strategy and Planning is responsible for research and policy analysis, strategic planning, performance contracting, risk management and reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: economics, statistics, mathematics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: economics, statistics, mathematics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • A Certificate from a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant experience, five (5) of which should be in managerial role;
  • Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and,
  • Fulfils the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Research & Policy Analysis

  • Review and prioritise the Authority’s research needs;
  • Review reports and recommend policy action on emerging issues in the industry;
  • Oversee the implementation of a knowledge management framework and repository of industry data and statistics;
  • Oversee publication and dissemination of research findings;
  • Liaise with Government agencies on required data collation, collection and reporting;
  • Facilitate collaboration with research institutions for peer review and validation of research findings;
  • Monitor and report on performance progress and risk mitigation activities.

Strategy & Planning

  • Coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Authority’s strategic plan and annual corporate work plan;
  • Coordinating the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the Authority’s performance contract;
  • Compilation, analyses, and publication of official statistics, statistical reports and industry surveillance reports;
  • Coordinating the implementation of recommendations of customer satisfaction surveys;
  • Repository of industry data and statistics including maintaining a meta data base for retirement benefits sector statistical data;
  • Coordination and provision of technical assistance for statistical activities
  • undertaken other departments of the Authority;
  • Management of the intellectual property rights with respect to the Authority’s research outputs including statistics and innovation;
  • Offer technical advice to the Board and Management on matters pertaining to Strategy and planning;
  • Monitoring and reporting on performance progress and risk mitigation activities in the department.
