Compliance Officer Job (80-120K)

The compliance officer-Will act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies, Ensure the firm follows all relevant laws as authorized by Capital Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines in Kenya. review operations to identify compliance risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum requirement) in a related field e.g.: Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Risk Management.
- ICA Certificate/Diploma in Compliance.
- 2–3 years in a compliance, legal or risk role.
- Familiarity with private equity operations, fund structures, and investor reporting is a major plus.
- Experience working with regulators or in a regulated industry ( strictly in capital markets)
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafts and updates internal compliance policies, ensuring they align with evolving regulations and industry standards.
- Ensures the bank complies with laws from regulators like the Capital Market Authority CMA (in Kenya), Anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and market abuse rules.
- Identifies compliance risks in new products, services, or markets and advises on mitigation strategies.
- Conducts regular training sessions on compliance topics such as ethics, data protection, and financial crime prevention.
- Promotes a culture of integrity and accountability across all the operations.
- Interfaces with regulators, prepares compliance reports, and ensures timely disclosures.
Key Skills
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., CMA, KRA, AML laws).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and risk awareness.
- Ability to develop and implement compliance programs
- Experience conducting internal audits and policy reviews.
- NB/:Budget between Kes 80,000-120,000.
