Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution
- Be a registered member of IET, KETRB
- Be computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public buildings
- Preparing design plans, blueprints, and technical specifications for civil and road works
- Conducting feasibility studies and site analyses to assess project viability and suitability
- Supervising and controlling all construction works to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Monitoring progress, resolving issues on-site, and ensuring adherence to approved designs and safety protocols
- Assisting in the maintenance of roads, drainage systems, and other public works
- Testing materials and commissioning completed infrastructure to ensure it functions correctly and safely
- Preparing tender documents, cost estimates, and contract documents for civil works
- Undertaking site measurements and preparing interim and final accounts for work completed
- Analysing and evaluating claims arising from construction contracts
- Preparing work plans, reports, and work schedules in liaison with supervisors
- Supervising junior engineering staff, technicians, and contractors
- Collaborating with other departments, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success
- Communicating with communities and addressing concerns related to projects
