  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution
  • Be a registered member of IET, KETRB
  • Be computer literate
  • Planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public buildings
  • Preparing design plans, blueprints, and technical specifications for civil and road works
  • Conducting feasibility studies and site analyses to assess project viability and suitability
  • Supervising and controlling all construction works to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Monitoring progress, resolving issues on-site, and ensuring adherence to approved designs and safety protocols
  • Assisting in the maintenance of roads, drainage systems, and other public works
  • Testing materials and commissioning completed infrastructure to ensure it functions correctly and safely
  • Preparing tender documents, cost estimates, and contract documents for civil works
  • Undertaking site measurements and preparing interim and final accounts for work completed
  • Analysing and evaluating claims arising from construction contracts
  • Preparing work plans, reports, and work schedules in liaison with supervisors
  • Supervising junior engineering staff, technicians, and contractors
  • Collaborating with other departments, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success
  • Communicating with communities and addressing concerns related to projects
