About The Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Accounting & Bookkeeping Intern to assist in managing financial records, preparing reports, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and contribute to maintaining sound financial management practices across Intrasoft and its subsidiaries.

  • Assist in processing and recording financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Prepare journal entries and post to accounting systems.
  • Support bank reconciliations and reconciliation of ledger accounts (e.g., payables, receivables, petty cash).
  • Help in maintaining up-to-date financial records, files, and documentation in compliance with audit and data privacy standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the preparation of management reports including cash flow summaries, expense reports, and budget tracking.
  • Collect and compile financial data from various departments and subsidiaries.
  • Enter transactions into our accounting systems.
  • Maintain organized records of supplier invoices, receipts, LPOs, delivery notes, and contracts.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
  • Assist with VAT returns, withholding tax computations, and other statutory filings in Kenya.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures across Intrasoft and its subsidiaries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial and employee-related information.
  • At least a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Those completed CPA Part I or higher will have added advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles and Kenyan tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be honest and of high integrity able to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be residing or willing to relocate to Nairobi.
  • Ability to work independently with or without supervision.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
