 Job Specifications

  • This is the entry level for graduate Accountants. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated officer.

  • Preparing payment documents in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations;
  • capturing data into the financial management system;
  • Preparing and updating creditors ledger;
  • Preparing and updating debtor’s ledger;
  • Processing imprests and following up on surrenders;
  • Preparation of accounting schedules and registers;
  • Writing cheques and posting payment vouchers in the cashbooks
  • Receipting of money due and payable to the Authority;
  • File all finance documents as per laid down procedures;
  • Filing and payment of statutory and tax obligations; and
  • Facilitate audits by retrieving the required documents and files.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • Passed Part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or any other equivalent professional qualification; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications

Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity set out in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and shall be required to present the following documents before the offer letter.

  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (TCC);
  • Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  • Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI);
  • Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  • Clearance certificate from approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
