C.S.S Networking Event At Spire Kenya

As a fresh graduate, looking for a job can be an overwhelming experience especially when you are not sure whether your four years of hard work will pay off.

The truth is that it is becoming hard for graduates to secure employment as employers argue that they lack the necessary skills and knowledge needed in the job market.

As a graduate, have you ever found yourself in a position where you have been applying for a number of jobs without reply and wonder what could be the problem?

Corporate Staffing Services, the leading recruitment agency in Kenya was invited for a group discussion forum at Spire Kenya where graduates and various employers had a chance to exchange ideas and insights on careers.

Spire Kenya is a career accelerator program that offers trainings to fresh university graduates in relation to job preparation and skills.

The 6 week program that attracted graduates from various universities in the country, focused on equipping them with different skills in areas such as CV writing, job applications and interview preparations.

Corporate staffing services on the other hand, gives job seekers the practical skills and knowledge as a potential employer.

The networking event was attended by Mr. Perminus Wainaina, the Managing Director of Corporate Staffing Services, who had a brief talk with the students and advised them on what recruiters are looking for in candidates.

When it comes to the interviews, Mr. Wainaina shared his expertise to the graduates and advised them accordingly on key tips and elements in every job interview.

“I particularly enjoyed all the great insights we were offered especially how to conduct ourselves in an interview,” says Celestine Njuguna a University Graduate.

Margret Tibira, also a university graduate admitted to have learnt a lot as far as interviewing skills are concerned. “Through the networking event, I was able to learn common interview mistakes that could cost you the job and how to avoid them,”

A Poorly structured CV can cost you a job as it does not highlight your key strengths and achievements to a potential employer.

On CV and cover letter tips, many of the graduates were curious to know why their applications had been rejected and why they do not receive callbacks from job applications.

Mr Wainaina advised the graduates accordingly as well as addressed a few concerns about their CVs and cover letters. On a follow up on the networking event, the spire students got a chance to share their CVs and cover letters for review.

In the advanced corporate world, many companies are starting to embrace psychometric tests as they want to ensure that they have the right person for the job.

On this test, graduates were informed of the need to undertake a psychometric test as employers were keen to know the personality of their candidates and also discover their inner strengths.

Majority of companies have been able to know their employees well by allowing corporate staffing to conduct the test for them.

Apart from that, Corporate Staffing Services was able to give feedback to the spire team in relations to the event and the training.
