Job purpose

Efficient and effective operation of milk processing equipment (Pasteurizers, Homogenizers, Separators and Bactofuge) to process milk into various milk and milk products following specific instructions, methods and formulae.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensuring the machines/equipment are in a good operational condition (by carrying out Autonomous maintenance and preventive maintenance in liaison with maintenance team.
• Checking the working and performance of all machineries and equipment used for the process such as filters, homogenizers, pasteurizers, separators, clarifier, Bactofuge and transfer lines.
• Executing the production plan by processing milk in a timely manner to different sections (Fresh market milk, UHT, High value) as per requirements.
• Ensuring the machines/equipment are in a good operational condition (by carrying out Autonomous maintenance and preventive maintenance in liaison with maintenance team.
• Accounting for all milk receipts from raw milk section by availing data on allocation and pointing out to the shift supervisor any notable variances and probable causes.
• Confirming the position of utilities i.e. water, power, ice water, compressed air before commencement of the process

Qualifications and Competencies

• Diploma in dairy related course from a recognized institution
• 2 Years’ experience in the dairy industry
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems
• Knowledge or experience in Quality management systems e.g. ISO, HACCP etc.
• Proficiency in computer literacy
