Responsibilities:

  • Collect, sort and classify and decontaminated soiled instruments.
  • Ensures that effective infection control protocols are applied when performing duties.
  • Inspect, assemble, pack, label and sterilize surgical instruments
  • Lubricate instruments where applicable eg: Handpiece.
  • Pack sets as per the checklist.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies of the various packs required
  • Instrument Inventory management.
  • Ensures that all relevant documentation are completed on daily basis e.g autoclaving records/register.
  • Autoclaving/autoclave quality checks – Perform daily BD Test and weekly Biological indicator test.
  • Participates in the Institutional Quality Assurance audit programmes.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Peri-operative Theater Technology
  • Certificate in Management of Sterile supplies from a recognized institution
  • O’level completion with a grade of at least D plus
  • 2 – 3 years experience as health care assistant/CSSD Technician.
