Job Description

Kenchic is for a competent and safety-conscious Plumber/Welder to join our team at the Thika Processing Plant. The role involves installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and welding/fabrication works to support smooth plant operations and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, and related fixtures.
• Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify faults and prevent breakdowns.
• Perform welding and fabrication works on plant equipment, structures, and piping systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults in plumbing and welded components promptly.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned maintenance tasks and job cards.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all maintenance activities.
• Adhere to safety standards, food safety requirements, and company procedures (including OSHA and FSSC 22000).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Proven experience in arc welding, gas welding, and fabrication works.
• Knowledge of industrial plumbing systems and maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an added advantage.
