Job description:

The machine operator will be responsible for running, maintaining, and supervising the production of concrete products (such as paving blocks, bricks, and tiles) using hydraulic or manual vibropress machinery. This role ensures high-quality production, machine safety, and adherence to production targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate hydraulic vibropress machines to produce concrete blocks, paving slabs, and related products based on specifications.
• Production & Mixing: Manage the concrete mix, including measuring, weighing, and loading sand, gravel, cement, and water to achieve the required consistency.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects (size, shape, texture) and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitoring & Adjustments: Monitor machine gauges and pressure during operation to adjust controls for optimal performance.
• Maintenance & Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning, lubricating, and basic maintenance to ensure the machine is in good working condition.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic mechanical issues or malfunctions during the shift.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate daily production logs, including quantities produced, raw materials used, and machine downtime.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in production machine operation, preferably with concrete, cement, or heavy industrial machinery.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work under minimal supervision
