Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for workshop clients: receive customers courteously, understand their concerns, and relay service needs to the technical team.
  • Assist in capturing accurate customer complaints and vehicle/generator conditions during intake. ï‚· Support the preparation of daily work schedules and job cards, and follow up on progress with technicians under the guidance of the Senior Technical Supervisor.
  • Help verify the quality and completeness of diagnoses and repairs before handing over serviced equipment to customers.
  • Maintain proper and up-to-date records of all workshop operations, including work orders, service reports, and spare parts usage.
  • Assist in tracking spare parts consumption and highlighting any discrepancies or frequent part usage trends.
  • Support in conducting post-service quality checks and gathering client feedback to improve service delivery.
  • Maintain digital and physical filing systems for workshop documentation to ensure easy access and reference.
  • Monitor and flag any concerns related to service delays, customer complaints, or deviations from quality standards to the Senior Technical Supervisor.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to workshop safety procedures, cleanliness, and orderly workspace standards.
  • Participate in the collection and compilation of weekly and monthly workshop activity data for reporting purposes.
  • Assist in preparing simple reports and summaries to support decision-making and improve service efficiency.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Technical Supervisor or Workshop Officer.

Qualifications and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a workshop, service center, or mechanical maintenance environment.
  • Experience in customer service or service reception in an automotive setting is an added advantage.
