Strategic Leadership & Programme Development

  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of Daktari Online’s training, CPD, research, and capacity-building portfolio in line with organizational strategy.
  • Translate healthcare workforce needs, market trends, and policy priorities into commercially viable and academically sound programmes.
  • Develop annual departmental work plans, budgets, and growth targets, with clear performance indicators.

Training & CPD Delivery:

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of training and CPD programmes, including curriculum design, accreditation, faculty coordination, delivery models (virtual, hybrid, in-person), and learner assessment.
  • Ensure programmes meet regulatory, professional body, and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of instructional quality, learner experience, and measurable learning outcomes.

Research & Knowledge Generation

  • Lead applied research initiatives aligned with Daktari Online’s strategic priorities, healthcare system needs, and partner requirements.
  • Oversee research design, data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination of findings through publications, policy briefs, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Promote ethical research practices and compliance with relevant research governance frameworks.

Academic & Institutional Partnerships

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with universities, training institutions, professional associations, regulators, and development partners.
  • Negotiate and manage MoUs, joint programmes, and collaborative research and training initiatives.
  • Position Daktari Online as a credible partner in healthcare education, research, and capacity building at national and regional levels.

Commercial Performance & Growth

  • Drive revenue growth from training, CPD, research, and capacity-building services.
  • Develop and own the department’s services menu, pricing models, and value propositions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, grants, consultancies, and funded projects in collaboration with the commercial and leadership teams.

Quality Assurance & Impact Measurement

  • Establish and enforce quality assurance frameworks for training and research activities.
  • Monitor programme performance, learner outcomes, partner satisfaction, and return on investment.
  • Produce regular performance, impact, and financial reports for management and partners.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

  • Lead, mentor, and manage departmental staff, consultants, and faculty contributors.
  • Build internal capacity in curriculum development, research methods, monitoring and evaluation, and programme management.
  • Set clear performance expectations and support professional development within the team.

Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership

  • Represent Daktari Online in high-level engagements, conferences, and technical forums related to training, research, and health workforce development.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through publications, presentations, and participation in sector dialogues.
  • Strengthen Daktari Online’s brand and visibility as a leader in healthcare training and applied research.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and manage operational, academic, and financial risks within the department.
  • Uphold ethical standards, data protection, and intellectual property management across all programmes and research activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Medical Education, Research Methods, or a related field (Masters an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 3–5+ years’ progressive experience in healthcare training, CPD, research, or capacity building.
  • Proven experience designing, managing, and scaling professional training, CPD, and applied research programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with universities, professional bodies, regulators, and development or corporate partners.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare education models, adult learning principles, and CPD accreditation processes.
  • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and monitoring and evaluation.
  • ​Demonstrated success in revenue generation from education or capacity-building initiatives
  • Experience developing market-responsive programmes with clear commercial and revenue accountability.
  • Strong leadership, programme management, and financial oversight capabilities.
  • Proficiency in digital, virtual, and blended learning delivery platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and partnership management skills.
  • Strategic, results-oriented, and ethical professional aligned with Daktari Online’s mission and growth objectives.
