Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Compliance

• Oversee the preparation and filing of complex federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Intuit ProConnect Proficiency: Utilize Intuit ProConnect Tax Software for all preparation and filing tasks.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and accounting standards.
• Stay current with relevant regulations, legislation, and complex compliance areas.
• Perform regular internal audits to maintain data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement effective, high-level tax minimization strategies for clients.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., bookkeeping and tax planning) to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of tax preparation professionals.
• Set clear performance expectations and continuously monitor team productivity and quality.
• Take ultimate responsibility for the review and sign-off of tax returns prepared by team members.
• Foster professional growth and development for staff at all levels.
• Report on team performance, strategic goals, and contribute key data to organizational decision-making.
• Demonstrate proficiency in leading, mentoring, and ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of all tasks.

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a large, complex portfolio of key client accounts.
• Conduct thorough tax return reviews with clients, providing strategic guidance and clear explanations.
• Maintain effective, proactive communication with a diverse client base.
• Play a significant role in fostering client retention and supporting firm business growth.
• Identify opportunities for service expansion and client financial optimization.

Data Security & Ethical Standards

• Oversee and enforce robust data security and client confidentiality measures.
• Ensure accurate preparation of audit schedules and coach team members for optimal performance during reviews.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in all aspects of financial reporting and client interactions.

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in U.S. accounting, with a strong emphasis on tax preparation and compliance.
• Proficiency in Intuit ProConnect Tax Software – preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional client communication and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
