The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the University’s procurement and asset management functions. This position entails the development and implementation of procurement strategies that meet the University’s goals while adhering to statutory requirements and enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in procurement processes.

  • Coordinate the procurement and supply chain operations in line with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act and Regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and review supply chain policies and procedures to ensure effective sourcing, procurement, distribution, and disposal of goods and services.
  • Spearhead procurement planning, tendering processes, and contract management in collaboration with internal departments.
  • Advise University Management on all matters relating to procurement and supplies, including risk exposure, contract compliance, and value-for-money assurance.
  • Prepare procurement budgets, forecasts, and reports to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of purchases, contracts, and tenders while ensuring accurate filing and compliance audits.
  • Oversee vendor evaluation, selection, development, and performance monitoring to build reliable supplier relationships.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of goods and services without compromising quality.
  • Develop and maintain an effective inventory management system to monitor asset utilization and prevent wastage.
  • Manage the disposal of obsolete, surplus, and unserviceable assets in compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Supervise staff in the procurement unit, ensuring high performance, professional ethics, and staff development.
  • Monitor market trends and technological advancements to improve procurement strategies and operational efficiency.
