Job Summary

The jobholder shall be responsible for supervision and implementation of designs and plans for ICT infrastructure solutions and technical requirements for the Authority.

Duties and responsibilities

• Facilitate the development of plans and workflows that satisfy current and future requirements.
• Execute infrastructure solutions and technical requirements including preparation of work plans for LAN, WAN, Power backup, PCs and accessories and
• Compile proof-of-concept results, including guidance and recommendations for trends.
• Coordinate procurement of requisite infrastructure solutions and service equipment by preparing tender document and
• Identify technological solutions required including the formulation of terms of reference and
• Monitor ICT Infrastructure performance and recommends improvements to ensure high system level
• Provide input into technical specifications catalogue in line with technology
• Ensure conformity to ISO (9001:2015 and 27001:2013) and data security requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

For appointment to this job, the candidate must have:

• A Bachelor degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ BSC in Computer science or Information Technology from a recognized institution.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is required.
• ITIL certification is an added advantage.
• Membership to a relevant professional body.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar role.

Demonstrate Technical proficiency in the following knowledge areas:-

• Development of technical requirements (including developing technical proposals, specifications and Expression of Interest) for ICT infrastructure solutions and Equipment.
• Development of Bill of Quantities and budgetary estimates for ICT related procurement.
• Network Architecture and Design framework/ concepts.
• Network protocols and technologies such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLANs, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), QoS, IPSec and security protocols.
• IP Telephony (VoIP) concepts such as VoIP deployment and SIP Concepts.
• Structured cabling techniques for fiber and copper LAN infrastructure.
• Wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design.
• High-availability and fault-tolerant architecture.
• ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
• Cybersecurity measures like encryption, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
