Our client in the retail industry, is looking for a candidate to join their team as a SALES PERSON. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring quality sales operations, and maintaining store standards in line with company guidelines.

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide product information and guide customers in making purchase decisions.
  • Handle customer complaints or escalate to the supervisor where necessary.
  • Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately.
  • Process cash, M-Pesa, and card transactions securely.
  • Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales.
  • Replenish shelves and ensure products are neatly arranged.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of shelves, counters, and the general store area.
  • Ensure price tags and promotional displays are accurate and visible.
  • Adhere to company policies, including cash handling, customer service, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards (for perishable goods).
  • Diploma/Certificate in Business Management, Sales and Marketing
  • 1- 2 years experience in retail, supermarket, or sales role is an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of using POS systems and handling cash.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and customer-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to understand and meet customer needs effectively.
  • Clear, polite, and persuasive communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Confidence in upselling, cross-selling, and achieving daily/weekly sales targets.
  • Trustworthy in handling cash, stock, and customer transactions.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and supervisors to achieve store goals.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Managing tasks efficiently during busy and slow store hours
  • Track record of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and takes own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
