Reporting To: Operations Manager
Industry: Steel Industry
Location: Nakuru

  • Identify new clients/buyers in the region and factor opening accounts for them.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients by conducting regular visits to understand their needs
  • Achieve sales targets and report on sales performance daily
  • Process sales orders and follow up on deliveries made to customers
  • Prioritize debt collection by ensuring all customers make payments as expected and strictly adhere to set credit period and replacement of bounced cheques
  • Liaise with the accounts office for updated customers statements
  • Give weekly reports on competitor activity and also potential customers reached out to and their responses towards our products.
  • Generate new business by prospecting, networking and cold calling to achieve 100% range selling
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity and customer insights and give recommendations to management accordingly
  • Conduct Market Survey to counter competition and share the data with management
  • Critically understand customer product issues if any and follow up for closure
  • Ensure customer issues are escalated to the Factory Manager for recording and closure to curb repeat issues
  • Manage assigned sales territory effectively including planning sales routes and prioritizing customer visits.
  • Keeping accurate records of sales activities, including calls, meetings and deals closed.

  • At least a diploma in sales and marketing
  • 3-5 yrs relevant experience dealing with steel industry
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player
  • Proven ability for market penetration of products
  • Time management skills
  • Good listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
