Job Title: Procurement Officer,
Reporting To: Director,
Location: Nairobi,
Gross Salary: Ksh 40-50k.

Our client, a fast-growing retail business operating liquor stores, is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer to support the daily purchasing operations. The role involves sourcing quality products, negotiating with suppliers, managing stock levels, and ensuring timely delivery to various branches.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Source and purchase liquor, beverages, and retail products in line with company requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality products.
  • Request and review quotations, negotiate pricing, and prepare purchase orders.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels at all branches and inform management of replenishment needs.
  • Track delivery timelines and follow up on delayed or incomplete orders.

Supplier Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and distributors.
  • Resolve issues related to product quality, shortages, or pricing discrepancies.
  • Maintain an updated supplier database and ensure compliance with company policies.

Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, payment schedules, and delivery notes.
  • Ensure proper documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and invoices.

Compliance

  • Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies and legal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in retail, FMCG, or liquor/beverage sector.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, and inventory processes.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple branches.
