Pharmaceutical Technologist Job KEMRI Kilifi, Kenya
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain investigational products accountability and inventory information and ensure proper storage practices;
- Participate in randomization, safeguard randomization and IP blinding/masking information;
- Reconcile records and handle study product in adherence to study protocol and SOPs;
- Prepare, review and enforce SOPs, policies and standards;
- Participate and support in trial monitoring and quality audits;
- Raise requisitions for purchase of medicines, medical equipment and surgical disposables;
- Monitor drug stock levels and prevent against pilferage, deterioration and advise on commercial availability and stock status;
- Inspect and monitor supplies xompliance to specifications and standards;
- Train and supervise students and dispensing clerks on pharmacy and clinical trial procedures;
- Compound medicines according to SOPs;
- Review and sign off pharmacy reports, records, logs, registers and other records;
- Dispense prescription medicines to out-patient and ward-based clients as prescribed;
- Operate, calibrate and monitor performance of pharmacy equipment and resolve repair issues; and Represent pharmacy at multi-disciplinary meetings and study trial trainings
Vacancy Requirements:
- Diploma in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized college. Mandatory
- Minimum Two (2) years relevant experience Mandatory
- Pharmaceutical Technologist Certificate and Annual Practice Certificate from the Pharmacy and Poison Board Mandatory
- Demonstrated high levels of integrity and confidentiality Mandatory
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Mandatory
- Ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with internal and external collaborators Mandatory
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to deliver quality outputs within strict timelines. Mandatory
- Strong team management and decision-making skills Mandatory
