Overall Responsibility

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit while ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve unit operations and patient care.
• Lead, manage, and support the nursing staff in the unit, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by the nursing team.
• Oversee patient care plans and ensure they meet the needs of patients and their families.
• Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvement initiatives as needed.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the unit, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and policies.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate patient records and documentation.
• Implement and monitor quality improvement programs and patient safety initiatives.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with best practices and standards.
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals and departments to coordinate patient care and services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and hospital committees.

Job Qualifications & Skills

• Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
• Possess a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
