Medical Specialist [1] – Anaesthesiologist Job

  • Be a citizen of Kenya;
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
  • Be a holder of a Master of Medicine Degree in Anesthesia from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
  • Must have served as Medical Specialist II for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Registration by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
  • Must have a valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
  • The Anaesthesiologist will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
  • Providing anaesthesia with full range of anaesthetic agents, methods and techniques
  • Administering pain relief before, during and after medical procedures when necessary ;
  • Monitoring patients’ vital signs during procedures when need be;
  • Supervising Anesthesia Assistants and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists;
  • Approving general, sedative, regional or local anesthetics;
  • Reviewing medical files and laboratory results for patients;
  • Informing patients of risks associated with anesthesia;
  • Complying with medical and hospital policies and
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Successful applicants are expected to get clearance from the following bodies.

  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
  • For those with higher education certificates (degrees) from outside Kenya, a letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education.
