- As Legal Counsel – Africa, you will provide trusted legal support to Flora Food Group’s commercial operations across multiple African markets, working closely with local business stakeholders in fast-moving FMCG environments.
- Reporting to the Head of Legal -AMEA, you will be required to advise on a broad range of commercial and operational matters, with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly distribution, procurement, marketing and other commercial contracts. In this role, you will act as a true business partner, helping Flora Food Group achieve its commercial objectives.
- You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain teams, helping to structure, assess and mitigate legal risk while enabling commercial objectives in a pragmatic way. You will manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions and provide pragmatic support on disputes, including supplier-related matters.
- Given the strong innovation agenda in the region — especially in Kenya — you will also support R&D and technology-enabled initiatives, including new product development and market launches, and advise on legal aspects linked to technology, digital tools and data-driven projects.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role?
- Qualified lawyer with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience (law firm and/or in-house)
- Solid experience in commercial and corporate law, including commercial contract drafting, negotiation and risk assessment
- “Hands on” lawyer who is proactive and can work independently in a fast-paced environment and translate legal advice into practical, business -oriented solutions
- Desire to develop a deep understanding of the Flora Food business, its people, markets, operations and customers
- Adept at stakeholder management at all levels in the business with ability to flex style
- Technology-fluent, with curiosity about innovation, digitalization and data-enabled projects
- Strong English drafting and communication skills
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working across multiple African markets and cultures.
