United States International University – Africa (USIU-Africa) is hiring a Lecturer to deliver academic and contribute to curriculum development and academic excellence. The role is based in Nairobi and university teaching experience is required.

Job Summary:

The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences; the incumbent will be expected to teach a general education Physics course.

  • Teach and assess Introduction to Physical Mechanics course to undergraduate students in Bachelor of Pharmacy and Data Analytics.
  • Introduce and mark practical reports for assigned courses that have practical component
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs and the teaching content are up-to-date and marketable;
  • Participate in program assessment and reviews;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized/accredited university.
  • A Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline from a recognized/accredited university.
  • A PhD in Physics, Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline from a recognized/accredited university will be an added advantage.
  • Should have at least three (3) years of university teaching experience; demonstrated ability to teach introductory Physics/Physical Mechanics to students from diverse disciplines, including health sciences, engineering, and computing, will be an added advantage.
