IT Manager Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated IT Manager to lead our technology operations at a prestigious luxury hotel in the country of Tanzania. In this critical role, you will be the backbone of our hotel’s technological infrastructure, ensuring all systems run smoothly to support an unparalleled guest and operational experience. You’ll work proactively to maintain uptime, enhance security, and provide exceptional technical support to all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management:
Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all hotel IT systems, including PMS (e.g., Opera Cloud), POS, SUN systems, Material Control, Payroll, PABX, Keycard systems, and OXI interfaces.
Network & Infrastructure:
Manage and maintain our robust network infrastructure (LAN/WAN), including firewalls (Sophos & Fortigate), routers, and switches. Ensure optimal performance and security of all network components.
Server Administration:
- Oversee server management, data backup procedures, and implement disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical information.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity measures to protect hotel data and systems from threats. * **Hardware & Software Support:** Provide prompt and effective diagnosis and resolution of technical hardware and software issues across the resort. *
CCTV & Cabling:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of CCTV systems and ensure proper structured cabling and server room organization.
Vendor Management:
- Liaise effectively with external vendors for IT hardware, software, and services, ensuring service level agreements are met.
Team Support & Documentation:
- Offer excellent technical support to non-technical staff, translating complex IT concepts into understandable terms. Maintain thorough documentation and reporting on all IT processes and incidents. **What We’re Looking For:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in IT support or systems administration, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience in the hospitality industry.
Technical Acumen:
- Strong knowledge of hotel-specific systems (PMS like Opera Cloud, POS, SUN systems, Material Control, Payroll, PABX, Keycard systems, OXI interfaces).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, and hands-on experience with firewalls (Sophos & Fortigate), routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, structured cabling, and best practices for server room organization.
- Good knowledge of data backup strategies, cybersecurity principles, and disaster recovery procedures.
Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues quickly and efficiently.
Communication:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support and train non-technical staff.
Organizational Skills:
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Adaptability:
- Ability to work under pressure, respond to emergencies promptly, and willingness to be on-call and work flexible hours as needed.
