Role Overview

Siafu Home is hiring an Inventory Officer – Kenya to strengthen the accuracy, visibility, and reporting of inventory across our operations.

The Inventory Officer is responsible for end-to-end management of Siafu Home’s inventory across production centres, warehouses, and retail channels. This role ensures accurate tracking of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods, supporting timely supply to both Kenyan operations and South African branches.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, organized, and capable of coordinating inventory flows across multiple locations and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain accurate records of all inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) in ERP or inventory management system
  • Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure accuracy
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts, overstocking, or shrinkage
  • Track products by SKU, batch number, and location for easy retrieval and reporting
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials to prevent damage

Receiving & Dispatching Stock

  • Receive goods from suppliers and production partners, verifying quantity, quality, and documentation
  • Prepare and dispatch inventory to retail stores, South Africa, or production centres as required
  • Maintain accurate movement logs and system updates for all inbound and outbound stock
  • Coordinate with logistics providers for timely delivery and shipment tracking

Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with Operations Coordinator, production supervisor, and retail team to plan inventory requirements
  • Generate regular inventory reports including stock levels, slow-moving items, and discrepancies
  • Proactively escalate risks, shortages, or inconsistencies to management
  • Support procurement planning by providing inventory data and trend analysis

E-commerce Order Processing & Fulfilment

  • Receive, review, and process all e-commerce orders promptly and accurately
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company standards
  • Update inventory levels in the system in real time to reflect fulfilled orders
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery and resolve order issues promptly

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain ERP/POS or inventory management system with up-to-date records
  • Implement and maintain inventory SOPs for storage, handling, and movement of stock
  • Recommend improvements to inventory processes, storage efficiency, and reporting accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • 2–4 years experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or stock control
  • Experience with ERP/POS systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate inventory across multiple locations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field
  • Experience in retail, homeware, or production environments
  • Familiarity with production or CMT supply chain processes
