Results Management & Audit Implementation

  • Follow-up & Resolution: Track and monitor the implementation of internal and external audit findings. Ensure business units promptly close cases to reduce operational risk.

Operational Excellence:

  • Evaluate systems and procedures against industry benchmarks.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to functional heads to optimize resource use and minimize revenue leakage.
  • Strategic Execution: Translate the Internal Audit division’s strategy into operational plans aligned with Continental Reinsurance’s overall business objectives.

Internal Audit & Governance

  • Audit Execution: Conduct risk-based audits using modern sampling techniques to ensure the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify nonconformances and high-risk deviations, and escalate critical issues to the Audit Committee and the Group Head of Internal Audit.
  • Compliance: Assess and promote a culture of compliance with regulatory directives and internal policies.

Investigations & Continuous Improvement

  • Capacity Building: Identify gaps in internal controls and deliver training and coaching for staff to strengthen the organization’s defensive line.
  • Infrastructure Evolution: Identify opportunities to improve audit tools and standards in line with global best practices.
  • Special Investigations: Lead investigations into any cases of fraud, embezzlement, or waste, and provide comprehensive reports to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or Actuarial Science.
  • Professional Status: Active membership in ICPAK (or equivalent). CIA designation (completed or in progress) is a distinct advantage.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep practical understanding of the re/insurance lifecycle (underwriting, claims, and risk appetite).
  • Data Analytics: Advanced proficiency in ACL, Microsoft Office Suite, and bespoke audit software for synthesis and reasoning.
  • Communication: Proven ability to influence and communicate high-level insights to the Board, regulators, and senior management.
  • Integrity: Unquestionable ethical standards and the resilience to maintain independence under pressure.
