Full-time role starting July 2025
Reporting to: CEO
Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits
Location: Headquarters, Off Mombasa Road, Nairobi
Work Setup: 5 days a week in person (with flex)

The HR Officer will play a key role in building and maintaining a strong, mission-aligned, and motivated team. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth internal processes, and fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that reflects Farm to Feed’s values.

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end hiring processes including drafting job descriptions, posting roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new hires.
  • Employee Experience & Culture: Champion Farm to Feed’s unique culture. Plan team-building events, employee check-ins, and programs that enhance morale and engagement.
  • Performance & Development: Support leadership in implementing performance reviews, goal setting, and learning & development plans.
  • HR Policies & Compliance: Maintain and update HR policies, ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor laws and internal values.
  • Payroll & Benefits Admin: Coordinate with Finance on payroll processing, and manage employee benefits, leave tracking, and statutory requirements.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted point of contact for staff concerns. Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safe workplace through active listening and conflict resolution.
  • HR Systems & Records: Maintain organized employee records and ensure accurate HR data management and reporting.
  • Operations and Admin: Manage day-to-day office operations and provide administrative support across HR functions, including scheduling, documentation, employee-related queries, and supporting the CEO on HR-related operations and tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of HR experience in a fast-paced or mission-driven organization.
  • Solid knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience working in dynamic environments such as startups, nonprofits, or growth-stage companies is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance empathy with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using HR software or systems is a plus.
  • A self-starter with a proactive attitude and passion for people and purpose
