Health Information Systems (HIS) Developer Intern Job. Internships In Kenya
Position Summary
Reporting to the Lead Software Developer, the HIS Developer Intern will be embedded within the software development team in the project to support the development and enhancement of several technological innovations.

Responsibilities
- Collection and documentation of system requirements for development of information systems
- Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code, including writing tests and test cases
- Deployment, maintenance, and administration of information systems including but not limited to assigning rights to users, maintaining backups, and providing support to users
- Development of training materials and training of users, including conducting pre and post training assessments to gauge the effectiveness of the trainings
- Designing databases including relational and no-SQL databases
- Work with various data sources including web services, APIs, Microsoft Excel, CSV, etc
- Any other duties assigned related to this job description
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or software engineering with a focus on software development or any equivalent degree
- Knowledge of software development languages such as Java, JavaScipt, Python, PHP and C#
- Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MSSQL, including writing SQL queries
- Should have Unix/Linux and/or windows server and desktop background
- Knowledge and experience of writing Unix/Linux scripts will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of working with Restful API will be an added advantage
