Job Overview

Cementers Kenya Limited seeks a qualified and proactive Health and Safety Officer to implement, monitor, and improve occupational health and safety policies. The role ensures compliance with regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and collaborates with site teams to reduce risks and incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with safety plans, legal standards, and best practices.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions and regular training for all staff and subcontractors.
• Promote safety awareness and open communication across all levels.
• Support safe integration of new machinery, processes, or technology.
• Maintain accurate and accessible safety documentation for audits and tenders.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or accredited training in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry (desirable).
• Valid First Aid Certificate.
• Fire Marshal and Scaffold Inspection Training (desirable).
• ISO certification is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement.
