Role Summary

  • The Fleet Officer is the engine behind smooth, safe, and on-time logistics operations. This role keeps thewheels turning—quite literally—by coordinating daily dispatch, managing truck availability, and ensuring every trip is planned, compliant, and efficient.
  • From leading morning safety huddles and supervising drivers to tracking performance, reducing downtime, and keeping equipment in top shape, the Fleet Officer balances people, processes, and vehicles with precision. You’ll stay on top of maintenance schedules, documentation, fuel planning, and real-time fleet movement, ensuring deliveries happen seamlessly and safely.
  • Working closely with drivers, technicians, and management, you’ll use data and operational insight to spot issues early, improve productivity, and enforce standards. If you’re organized, calm under pressure, and take pride in running disciplined operations that deliver results, this role puts you firmly in control of the road ahead.

  • Manage day-to-day fleet and logistics operations, including truck dispatch, routing, and timely deliveries.
  • Lead and supervise drivers and delivery assistants through safety briefings, performance management, training, and onboarding.
  • Oversee vehicle and equipment management, including inspections, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and downtime reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, statutory requirements, permits, and internal SOPs.
  • Monitor fleet performance using relevant systems and data to identify issues, delays, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, fuel management schedules, and coordination with internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, support SOP reviews, and drive continuous improvement across fleet operations.

 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve 95–100% on-time truck dispatch and delivery rate against planned schedules.
  • Maintain 100% validity of statutory documentation (licenses, permits, insurance) for trucks and drivers at all times.
  • Reduce unplanned fleet downtime by at least 15–25% through proactive maintenance and timely interventions.
  • Ensure 95–100% compliance with safety procedures, including daily safety checks and safety huddles.
  • Achieve 90–95% fleet utilization rate, including effective planning of second trips where applicable.
  • Record and report 100% of delays, incidents, and downtime causes accurately within the required reporting timelines.
  • Maintain 90–95% driver and delivery assistant readiness, including punctuality for dispatches and adherence to assigned schedules.
  • Achieve 95% adherence to logistics SOPs, operational processes, and fueling schedules.
  • A minimum of 2 years , hands on experience in logistics.
  • Proven experience in managing a team of drivers and delivery personnel.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, including truck dispatch, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and technology.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
