The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the farm, ensuring disciplined execution across production, people management, systems, and compliance. The role will drive operational efficiency, cost control, and export-grade quality standards. The Farm Manager will provide structured leadership to agronomists, supervisors, and farm teams to ensure the farm operates as a high-performance unit.

  • Farm Operations Management: Oversee all day-to-day farm activities, ensuring alignment with production targets, quality standards, and export schedules.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead agronomists, farm supervisors, and labor teams with clear accountability, performance expectations, and structured reporting.
  • Production Planning and Execution: Convert production targets into detailed work plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules.
  • Systems and Procedure Development: Design, implement, and enforce clear operational procedures, workflows, and reporting systems across all farm functions.
  • Project Management: Manage farm initiatives such as infrastructure upgrades, irrigation improvements, crop transitions, and expansion projects within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Monitor labor productivity, input usage, and operational expenses to maintain cost discipline and efficiency.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to Global GAP, organic production standards, and export compliance requirements.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide structured operational reports to the Chief Operating Officer, highlighting performance metrics, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement disciplined improvements to enhance productivity and scalability.
  • Bachelor of Science in Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
  • Working knowledge of Global GAP standards (mandatory)
  • Postgraduate and / or project management qualification is an advantage
  • Formal training or certification in organic production systems
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing commercial horticulture farms (experience in organic farming is an advantage)
  • Proven experience managing export-oriented farm operations in Kenya
  • Experience leading agronomists, supervisors, and large farm teams
  • Strong experience implementing structured operational procedures
  • Experience in greenhouse and open-field systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and discipline in execution
  • Strong leadership and team management ability
  • Strong project management and planning capability
  • Strong ability to design and enforce operational procedures
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Financial awareness and cost control discipline
  • Comfortable using farm management software and data analysis tools
