General Purpose

Our client, in the FMCG industry, is looking to hire an exports associate to be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the use of company vehicles and motorbikes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

Location: Nairobi – Enterprise Road | Salary: Ksh. 35,000 (gross)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process export documentation.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and country-specific requirements.
• Obtain necessary export permits, licenses, and certificates.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transporters for timely and cost-effective shipments.
• Monitor shipments to ensure smooth transit and resolve any logistical issues.
• Track shipments and provide status updates to customers and internal teams.
• Arrange cargo insurance where applicable and liaise with the insurer in case of claims.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and agents to facilitate seamless export operations.
• Provide customers with export documentation and resolve any related inquiries.
• Processing imprest and per diem allowances for delivery executives and drivers doing upcountry and export deliveries.
• Follow up with delivery executives for timely and accurate imprest
• Organize and track duties/ errands for company vans and bikes within Nairobi and environs as requested by other departments.
• Manage the day-to-day UBER account requests and reconciliation of the account expenses.
• Prepare weekly plans for upcountry routes, exports, and branch transfers.
• Maintain accurate errand records for audits and compliance purposes and prepare reports periodically.
• Ensure the placement of temperature monitoring devices in the container.
• Ensure proper arrangement of products/ palletization in reefer container.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course or equivalent qualification.
• 3yrs experience in export logistics in a busy FMCG organization
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and customers.
• Good leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of incoterms.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with prioritizing and managing multiple assignments.
• Self-motivated, result oriented, and able to work in a matrix environment
