Consultant for RAPID+ Learning Event NGO Job MWA

Scope of Work
The consultant shall be required to undertake the following tasks:
- Lead the preparation of workshop agenda, learning materials, presentations and pre-read materials
- Effectively facilitate specific sessions during the Learning Event (2-days), ensuring that they foster participatory learning environment
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to steer the learning event discussions towards practical applications of the learning content in RAPID+ program activities. This will include providing guidance on innovative approaches and actionable strategies that can be adopted to address the specific challenges raised by the various county teams on application of EWS Data
- The consultant will compile an 8–12-page Guidebook, covering the content in the learning objectives to be shared with participants during the learning event; and following the training, a summarized 4-page Learning Brief covering lessons shared by participants
- The consultant will compile a brief training session report (1-4 pages excluding annexes) highlighting key insights, recommendations and actionable next steps identified during the session
- The consultant shall provide a high-quality MS PowerPoint presentation suitable for a 1-hour webinar covering the learning content to be presented to a global audience
- The consultants shall present their learnings and guide discussion during the 1-hour webinar including facilitating Q&A from audience
- The consultant shall develop a short success story (1-1.5 pages) including a summary of the work, the key learning points, and how it can be applied to other contexts.
Consultant’s Qualifications
Below are the preferred qualifications for the consultant/s applying for the consultancy:
- Advanced University Degree/s in Climate Science, Land and Water Management Civil/ Water Engineering, Geography, Water Resources Management or related.
- Demonstrated understanding of current state-of-the-art in climate change adaptation/ resilience science through advanced postgraduate studies/ courses/ certifications
- Demonstrated understanding in the innovative application of nexus approaches in water-sustainability-climate-agrifood/ livestock
- Demonstrated understanding of national and county policy frameworks on Climate Change and Early Warning Systems
- 8+ years of experience of application of GIS and EWS Data for climate adaptation and climate resilient water/ water resources for MUS – domestic, agrifood/ livestock systems
- Demonstrated experience in supporting program learning for clients in government, NGO sectors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience working in the ASALs of Kenya
Application Process.

- Profile of consultant, a clear demonstration of previous experience in conducting similar assignments (1-2 pages)
- Methodological approach outlining the consultant’s understanding of the specific objectives and proposed methodology (1-2 page)
- 1-2 Page concept on the consultant’s proposed training package (a well-designed graphical presentation is encouraged)
- Proposed activity schedule/ training outline/ work plan with timelines (1-2 page)
- Financial proposals including consultant fees and any logistical costs (0.5 page
- Professional CVs of consultants – No more than 4 pages.
- Contact details of 3 previous clients/organizations (including contact persons) that have contracted the consultant to carry out similar work.
Statutory Requirements
Interested consultants are expected to submit the following statutory documents as part of the mandatory requirements:
- Kenyan firms: copies of a valid Kenyan certificate of tax compliance, certificate of incorporation, and company KRA PIN certificate.
- Kenyan individuals: copies of a valid Kenyan certificate of tax compliance, KRA PIN certificate, and National Identification Card/ Passport.
- International firms: Copies of Company Incorporation certificate, Tax-payer registration documents, Tax compliance certificate for your respective countries.
- International Individuals: Copies of Tax-payer registration documents, Tax compliance certificate (where applicable), Passports/ National Identity card for your respective countries.
